Communications Design Limited was formed in 1984 and commenced trading in February 1985 from No. 1 New Street, Longford. The company was established to provide wireless communications solutions, dealing mainly in private and mobile radio.

In 1986 we moved to a new unit on the Ballinalee Road, just a few hundred metres from our current address, where we erected a new commercial building in 2000.

In the early years, Communication Design Ltd undertook contracts such as providing radio communications for the Nissan Classic Cycle Race. We obtained numerous licenses from the Department of Communications to develop high sites and provide wide area coverage on community repeaters throughout the Midlands and North West.

Most recently, we secured a sizeable contract with Westroute SIAC Ferrovial JV who built the new motorway spanning over 34km from Kilcock to Mullingar. We installed a system comprising of 3 repeater stations and 128 portable radios, for use in surveying, construction and emergency situations.

The introduction of mobile phone technology had obvious implications for some of our traditional business users of two-way radio. While we got involved for a time, we did not remain in this sector at retail level. Instead, we now focus on providing high site facilities to the operators.

Over the past ten years our company has changed direction by embracing the security market and in providing high-end Digital CCTV security solutions to a wide area of commercial applications.

Our ability to integrate fully with EPOS systems access control and intruder alarm systems has proven crucial to our success within the industry.

In addition we can now provide monitoring of intruder alarm systems with video verification which adds enormous value and peace of mind to our customers.
